The Derby Public Library has many resources to help patrons perform genealogical research. In our Local History Room, there is a collection of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) books for those who can trace their ancestry back to the American Revolution. Other books are available that list genealogical information for some of the popular surnames associated with our local area. We also have books for popular surnames found throughout Connecticut, public records of marriages and vital statistics from the late 1700s, and a variety of microfilms from local newspapers dating back to the 1800s.

CT library card holders also have access to the online databases at researchIT CT  that includes links to Ancestry.com, Family Tree Magazine, Heritage Quest Online and many other genealogy-related sites.

*Note: CT Library card holders may access some or all of our online databases remotely by using their library card ID. Please contact the Library at dplreference@biblio.org or (203) 736-1482 for more details.
