Baby Steps – Temporarily Suspended
This program (formerly Baby & Me) for children from birth to 24 months old along with their caregiver, takes place weekly on Wednesdays, September through December. Come play, learn, and grow during this interactive program that includes play activities to foster developmental and social skills. Featuring a story, songs, rhymes, and more, Baby Steps is a wonderful opportunity for a parent/caregiver to bond with their young child through interactive play. Older siblings are welcome to join us and need not register.
Family Place – Temporarily Suspended
A 6-week session of Family Place -1, 2, 3… Grow With Me begins in September. This innovative program is a time for families to share together with their 1-3 year-old children. Siblings who are age 5 and under are also welcome to attend and need not register. Each week features puzzles, books, blocks, a craft, dramatic play and more, followed by a story and rhymes. Parents/caregivers are introduced to available resources to assist in raising their toddlers while children have an opportunity to meet new friends in an educational and creative environment.
The Family Place is a national initiative of Americans for Libraries Council and Middle Country Library. The Family Place of CT is made possible through the generous support of the Katharine Matthies Foundation.

A literacy initiative designed to share 1,000 books with your young child prior to their start of kindergarten. Participation is ongoing at a pace that works for each individual family. The only time constraint is that it must be completed before the start of kindergarten, so registration as young as infant/toddler age is encouraged. Reading aloud to your young child sets the foundation for school success!

Once a month throughout the school year, an after school program takes place on Tuesday afternoons offering children, ages 5-9 (Grades K-4) an opportunity to share in seasonal or holiday themed activities including arts, crafts, and stories.
