Hunting for History – We’re looking for Derby history to add to our archives. If you find photos of the house you grew up in, your family business, everyday life on Derby streets or memorabilia from parades, celebrations or the Sterling Opera House, etc., please save it and contact us to let us know what you found and we will be able to accept your donations and preserve history together. Any questions? Please contact Christine Boulay, Local History Coordinator at dplreference@biblio.org.

Our Local History Room has in-house reference materials about Derby and the rest of the Lower Naugatuck Valley including public records of marriages, vital statistics and an extensive collection of Derby High School yearbooks/publications. The Library also has various newspapers available on microfilm. And in addition to our special local history books and microfilms, we have an assortment of antique postcards and stereographs, as well as a variety of photographs from throughout Derby’s history. The Library is always “Hunting for History” for Derby history to add to our archives. So if you find photos of homes, business or everyday life, memorabilia from parades, celebrations or advertisements, please consider donating them to the Library. Questions? Please call us at (203) 736-1482 or email us at dplreference@biblio.org
